Education

Currently, UFPEL offers 98 undergraduate degree programs, which include 5 distance learning programs, 41 master’s degree programs, 17 non-degree graduate programs, 9 medical residency programs, and 4 multidisciplinary medical residency programs. In addition to these teaching modalities, UFPel also takes part in a federal government project named Universidade Aberta do Brasil (Brazilian Open University, UAB) through distance learning programs.

At present, there are about 14,000 undergraduate students who study on campus and nearly 5,000 distance learning undergraduate students at UFPEL, as well as over 2,500 graduate students. The technical and administrative staff totals over 1,300 people. There are about 1,400 faculty members and most of these hold a Ph.D. degree.
